Retro Weddings are becoming more and more popular with couples as they strive for something different for their wedding theme and their wedding photography in particular. At Fashionable Weddings we have developed some beautiful retro styles that are getting rave reviews and are being adopted by couples who want their entire weddings albums designed in this way.
The Villa has made some big changes to make it a very attractive place for a couple to get married. One such change is the permanently placed Wedding Marque. It’s a fabulous addition to the venue and gives the couple a lot more room to stage their event. We were really excited when we were asked to photograph a wedding there last year. Mr Clegg the father of the bride contacted us in 2010 to photograph his first daughters wedding and I’m pleased to say that he was so happy with us that we have now photographed all 3 of his daughter’s weddings.
If you’re looking for a venue in Lytham for your wedding you can’t go wrong with Lytham Hall. David and Nora were really pleased with their choice of venue and we were thrilled when they asked us at fashionable weddings to be their photographers for the day. The Hall itself has many interesting features to use as a backdrop and great open spaces and woodland in the grounds.
Ribby Hall has undergone quite a transformation over the past few years in it’s desire to become a first class wedding venue. We discovered this for ourselves when We were asked by Karl and Gen to be the photographers at their wedding. The wedding breakfast room is extremely light and airy which enabled us to get some fabulous indoor editorial shots without struggling with low light. Karl and Gen were delighted with them and are looking forward to the delivery of their wedding album. Ribby Hall were extremely helpful to us and we’d definitely recommend them as an excellent wedding venue.
Fashionable Weddings Photography launched a range of new concepts at the National Wedding Show NEC this last weekend. Competition was fierce but relaxed. We found the whole experience of the show tiring but rewarding. It allowed us the opportunity to engage with the Brides and Grooms one to one and to show not just our photography off but who are behind the award wining photography. Mark and Me featured in the shot both attended and met as many people that were interested which turned out to be many. We have already looked at dates throughout the next year with 5 up and coming weddings before Christmas and feel that it was a great way to engage with you the The website is great but to really go out there and mingle was a superb experience and so much so we have already booked in for the Spring one.
We thought to keep things simple in terms of how the stand looked was best and used it to just showcase our photography as opposed to decor and albums, our styled albums are unique and we are very protective about how do construct them especially the art work used in creating the personally designed albums. We did introduce a beautiful new white frame and this was received in a positive way, so much so that is now features in one of our collections as a free inclusive option.
Fashionable Weddings are now one of the wedding photographers available for your wedding at Selsdon Park, having just spent 3 days prior to the X Factor attendance, we created a range of interior shots for Principal Hayley for use in their marketing. If you would like to see more of our work have a look at their website however if you would like us to shoot your wedding with style please browse through the site or go to our blog to see more about us and our wedding photography.
Sonja and Noel booked us to cover their wedding at Astley Hall in Chorley lancashire. This has ties with the great Oliver Cromwell and a lot of the furniture was authentic to the house. We were very fortunate in being able to use this for our wedding photography including the precious Harpsichord/Piano and the bed that Oliver Cromwell slept in.
Sonja and Noel had arranged for a range of birds of prey to be present after the ceremony to entertain the guests whilst we completed our wedding shoot. They day was full and interesting with the wedding photography providing some of our favourite shots. more can be seen on the blog here >>

The Dressing Rooms in Halesowen and near to Birmingham have agreed to host our Fashionable Weddings wedding photography display within their large wedding dress shops. Having worked with Rebbecca who owns The Dressing Rooms and supplied some beautiful dresses for one of our Trash the Dress shoot last year in Lytham, we felt being represented in the Birmingham area by a sophisticated outlet such as Dressing Rooms was the right move forward for us this year.
We will be placing a pop up banner stand, one of our custom books to view along with brochures and discount cards. If you are hoping to buy a dress in the Birmingham and West Midlands area, pop along and ask to see Rebecca or one of her able assistants in the shops.
Wedding Photographers work on their marketing material most of the time. Fashionable Weddings are no different and we have now finished our master directory for 2011 and what a beast it is too! Full of beautiful wedding photographs, editorial styled images and lovely locations shot by Fashionable Weddings this last year.
Of course not all of them are in there but some our favourites, locations and people all feature. If you would like to see more then please email stating your name and date of wedding and we can then send you a link. It will only be seen by people making contact with us.
Kilworth House in Leicestershire was set to be our first white wedding consisting of more than a dress. after the whitest Christmas since I can remember I was expecting some great outdoor shots but alas this was not to be. We arrived on the very day that the big freeze became the big big slush puppy! Wedding Photographers shooting slush, how do we do that?
The day was not going too well for Clare as she was feeling very nervous but also very ill, however we managed to get off to a good start but shortly after we had just covered the ceremony Clare was taken ill for a while and we had to postpone any shots until we had the all clear. the problem ten was we had lost much of the light and the time allotted for the shots mainly the group shots that were required by Adam and Clare. This was one of the most comprehensive lists that we had ever been given but now with no time or anywhere to shoot them.
whilst having our coffee we decided that the only option was our lighting, this would ensure a good feel to the images and make them dramatic and cover a large group. We finally found the room and manged to have a great session which lasted an hour and everyone there had a good time interacting and fooling around. The pictures are now online in the gallery for Clare & Adam seen HERE
Getting married at Yorebridge House, Wensleydale Yorkshire, Emma and Dave invited us to capture their day at the fabulous Yorebridge House in Yorkshire. What a great place to work and to have your day. The whole venue is geared to sophisticated Boutique weddings and it made our photography easy. The couple had a TeePee outside for the evening do but the only thing there was the torrential rain and gales. Nothing dampened the spirit though and shot some great images.
We are working on Emma and Daves album currently and will have a full page display soon. in the meantime please go to the wedding page here and see some of the selected shots, the couple are choosing from our Retro Wedding Photography Pack or the contemporary finished album LINK IS HERE
Wedding makeup or bridal makeup is something Brides love to have, making them feel relaxed and beautiful on their day is essential. Having worked in the fashion industry we have access to some excellent makeup artists who are not just great in every day application but also have the skills to keep your makeup fresh throughout the day. They can add eyelashes and do hair, alternatively we can just organise your hair for your too. Make up is a skill and our team of creatives work with you to create your favourite look. They provide inclusive the practice session and advise on the best makeup application for you. We work with two artists who also work with James on his fashion shoots. Quality, freshness and natural.
The picture seen here was on location at the Yorebridge House in Wensleydale Yorkshire and shows our makeup artist at work.
We have now introduced an initial range of image styles based on retro styled wedding photography seen in magazines and photo images. Even though we shoot Hollywood Makeovers as a way of creating a different feel to either pre or post wedding photography, we felt that to introduce another range of colourings and styles to the actual finished images would be a great idea and just mixes up a little what we can do.
We use a new range of bespoke washes and layers on top of your images to create a really unique style to the work and when you mix that in with our new book right from LA which is Greener and Eco friendly you really get a look that is lasting and timeless. Handmade albums from hand made papers make this a stunning album.
