Kindest regards James & Mark
Wedding makeup or bridal makeup is something Brides love to have, making them feel relaxed and beautiful on their day is essential. Having worked in the fashion industry we have access to some excellent makeup artists who are not just great in every day application but also have the skills to keep your makeup fresh throughout the day. They can add eyelashes and do hair, alternatively we can just organise your hair for your too. Make up is a skill and our team of creatives work with you to create your favourite look. They provide inclusive the practice session and advise on the best makeup application for you. We work with two artists who also work with James on his fashion shoots. Quality, freshness and natural.
The picture seen here was on location at the Yorebridge House in Wensleydale Yorkshire and shows our makeup artist at work.
We have now introduced an initial range of image styles based on retro styled wedding photography seen in magazines and photo images. Even though we shoot Hollywood Makeovers as a way of creating a different feel to either pre or post wedding photography, we felt that to introduce another range of colourings and styles to the actual finished images would be a great idea and just mixes up a little what we can do.
We use a new range of bespoke washes and layers on top of your images to create a really unique style to the work and when you mix that in with our new book right from LA which is Greener and Eco friendly you really get a look that is lasting and timeless. Handmade albums from hand made papers make this a stunning album.
Having never photographed fireworks we were a little worried about the effect we could achieve on the night. This wedding was one we looked forward to try out some creative techniques. technically it was difficult to achieve as even when we did a timed exposure for the fireworks we had to make sure the subject didn’t move. We managed it in the end and found this stunning shot amongst the collection Of images for Eleanor and Roger. FASHIONABLE WEDDINGS CAPTURES YOUR DAY
If you have read part of the site then you should have already gathered that James worked with Gok Wan on seven of the “How to Look Good Naked” episodes last year and early this year.
He was the featured photographer who created the great lighting effect for the “Naked Britain” Photography. The TV Ccompany who produced the show for Channel 4 Maverick liked the photography that much James was commissioned to shoot around the UK on location. In this picture the camera is firmly focused on James. For his TV work he was miked up and had to speak and discuss what he was going to do. “Nerve racking” was his comment.

We can Trash It! Love It! Rock It or even Freak It but best of all we can do Photograph it!!
With your vows taken and the honeymoon over and love is in the air what ever the time of year is, most brides shake down their wedding dress, wrap it in acid-free tissue paper and pack it away, never to be seen again. But there is another option. A growing number of brave brides have chosen to throw caution to the wind and their big-day dresses to the elements. The idea behind Trash the Dress or Rocking Your Frock or even Loving Your Dress is simple – instead of letting your gown fester in the back of a cupboard or in the attic, slip it back on for a professional photoshoot where it gets taken out on location to a destination of your choice and you end up with some creative but also some very distinctive photographs that are a world away from traditional twee wedding portraits.
Fashionable Weddings offer a complete service for your session including makeup, hair, two photographers and some styling too! The location is somewhere you really love, your chosen location and a complete contrast to every your day wedding portrait that hangs in many peoples houses, your session can also involve both Bride and groom. The benefits of your own photoshoot is that we create stunning images together and memories that will last not in a box but on your wall or album and even when your dress is packed away it will still be on view for all to see.
The sessions are fun and friendly, you may add input into the creation to your images and best of all you can be yourself to laugh and enjoy your day with us. We make you feel beautiful and relaxed which in turn will give you great confidence to be who you want to be, where you want to be. Classical creative, contemporary and unique to you.

Trashing your dress certainly sounds extreme, however with some creative input and a little courage then you have a great opportunity to create a stunning set of images. Fashionable Weddings are experts in setting up your day, from the very beginning right through to the end of the day we guide you entirely though your photographic session. Bridget wanted a horse on the beach and so with our contacts we managed to arrange the horses and the location. The horse were from Cumbria and the beach was in Lancashire and with careful planning our team ll met up on location to create the experience.
The weather started off well but soon it took a dive and we had to head for the indoors, however we decided that we could shoot out of the rain and under the Pier so this is what we did. Make Up was re applied, hair re set and we took some new light measurements. It was then over to James and Mark to create these stunning pictures, the real success being down to the fact the we had out lighting kit with us to create that fashion look. Bridget was happy and enjoyed her day. If you would like to know more you can read about how it works here in the section all about Trashing your Dress and watch the little video that goes with it to get an in depth idea of how we work with you.
What is a montage you may ask?
It is a group of images from your day which when shot and combined can create a truly beautiful timeless and lasting image of your day. Instead of the traditional picture taken from one of you shots and mounted on canvas or even framed why not try this out. A creative montage of all the best moments in once piece of artwork and unique to you.
I
f you do decide in advance of your wedding day then we will plan a sequence of shots whilst working on your other wedding photography. It doesn’t even mean that we do much more than try a few different angles and photograph other items which may not normally feature in your wedding album. The resulting images will all tell a story and when composite or joined together in one image it tells a beautiful story. The benefit to you is that you have a unique piece of not wedding photography but Art that is framed and ready to hang. They can be signed by James so you can keep it safe and who know one day it could be worth something!

Whilst we were at a recent wedding in Oxforshire, in fact it was the fabulous 2 Michelin star Le Maison owned by the famous TV Chef Raymond Blanc, We were taken aback when Mr Blanc decided that he would make a welcome appearance for the Wedding of Dathan & katie.
His dulcet French tones commanded us
to get some shots of him and the happy couple so they may use them too. We obliged thanking Raymond for this unique opportunity. Whilst we were there we were looked after so well by Dathan and although we didn’t sample the full 6 courses we did get to try some but our dinner which was a sandwich platter was like nothing that Marl or I had both sampled or eaten before. The sandwiches looked as though they had been cut with a laser they were so angular and then t was served with risen lettuce and rabbit leaves with shaved crisps of parsnip and drizzled with exotic marinades. Absolute attention to all of the details.
Dathan & Katy asked us to cover the wedding at the beautiful Le Maison in Oxfordshire. This venue was truly stunning and offered us a range of locations to shoot the wedding images. What we didn’t really want was the heavy rain forecast later on that day, however the day started well and we captured some great images. Dathan wanted a truly stunning shot of his late fathers collectors car the White Porsche. He was hoping that we could c
reate a shot that would have the 60′s feel and he would feel proud of when he showed it to his family later on. Katie also wanted a hero shot but was more motivated with the traditional throwing of the bouquet.
We worked out the angles and decided that in order to create a dynamic shot for Bride and Groom to have framed, we would need our trusty lighting set up to create some drama. We certainly did this as you can see from the images. Dathan got his car shot and katie got her special bouquet throwing shot. This was captured by Katie our makeup artist who was not only make up for the day but one of the guests. Katie isn’t married but after catching the bouquet who knows?

Dathan & Katie opted for our intro wedding collection, this was supplied to them on our custom DVD and price started at £1200 for 2 Photographers.
Wendy and Chad married this summer at the fabulous Weston Park Home in Shropshire UK, The house is truly stunning in and has a fantastic array of antiques and paintings. It was our opportunity to go full on with our High Society Wedding Photography collection. This is a full on srevice and starts at around 8.00am in the morning and goes right up until we have captured the Pararazzi Event Photography which is included with this.
We had also included into the collection for the day Wedding/Bridal makeup and hair for Wendy. Our make up was there on hand right through making sure that Wendy A Barrister from Birmingham was looking her best at key points in the day. As part of the photography collection we include not only the key shots, editorial shots and required group shots but some top fashion lit pre organised images that on completion were stunning. If you would like to see a short gallery go here and if you would like to see the whole book please pop back in around a month.
The collection of shots in total on the day was in excess of 2500!
